Maverick...Camelot's High Plains Drifter
We showed Mav a few times while we lived in Colorado, but
being a show dog just wasn't his calling in life -- he would
much rather socialize with everyone there.  Once we
obtained our next Ridgeback, Roxie, Mav was neutered to
prevent any accidental breedings.

Maverick was our first Ridgeback -- the one that
hooked us on the breed.  Maverick was bred by
Clayton & Cheri of Camelot Kennels.  He was
born on January 28, 1994 and came to live with us
that April.

He had a delightful temperament and thought that
everyone who came to visit MUST be there to see
him.  Maverick, obviously, failed to read that part
of the AKC Ridgeback standard wherein it states
that Ridgebacks are generally reserved or aloof
with strangers.  He is shown below, passing his
puppy obedience class in Colorado ('94).

Mav loved to hike, even at age 10.5 -- although, he had slowed
down considerably by then.  He pretty much spent the rest of
his days, lounging about and keeping watch over his girls,
Roxie and Ella, and pestering us for attention.
