After having Maverick, we thought we had Ridgebacks
figured out -- not! Roxie turned our house on its ear! She
had a very busy schedule planned for each day and would
appreciate if we didn't interfere with it too much -- other
than popping treats in her mouth and feeding her. She
loved to play, and at the age of 10, still gave her baby, Ella,
and granddaughter, Dinah, a run for their money. She
loved living on the edge!!
I don't think I've ever seen a dog that has so much "Joy of
Life" in her. Her philosophy -- which many people should
adopt -- is "today is a wonderful day with so many exciting
possibilities!" She was exuberant and confident. Roxie is
pictured to the upper left at 12 months of age, winning
Best of Opposite Sex & Winners Bitch and above left,
placing at the RRCUS National Sweeps.
We lost Roxie to tick-born disease shortly before her 10th
birthday. The symptoms struck her suddenly without
warning and within a few days she was gone. Her
wonderful memories and legacy still carry on in her
progeny, as well as in her wonderful daughter, Ella, who
is also a foundation brood bitch and a tremendous
producer.
