About Lure Coursing

Ridgebacks are eligible to participate in lure coursing trials along with other sighthound breeds, such as Greyhounds, Whippets and Borzoi. In lure coursing, dogs run three at a time and follow an artificial lure around a pre-determined course pattern. Coursing dogs are scored on speed, enthusiasm, agility, endurance and their ability to follow the lure. Lure coursing is truly and exciting sport and is is almost as much fun for the handlers as it is for the hounds.  For more information on lure coursing check out the website of AKC

Paradigm Lure Coursing:

While we do not lure course ourselves, because of time constraints, we are excited to see our puppies out there successfully competing, as well as producing progeny who have the desire to course.

• Zeus, DC Paradigm Aristos By Ridgelea SC LCM CGC ROM has produced many progeny who are successful in coursing, including: 4 Best in Field Winners; 5 AKC Dual Champions and 1 AKC/ASFA Dual Champion; 8 AKC Field Champions, including the 2006 #5 AKC lure courser; 11 ASFA Field Champions, including the 2007 #1, #2, #7, #14, #15, and #19; ASFA lure coursers; 2 ASFA Lure Courser of Merit (LCM)
• Gus, CH Paradigm's Double Bogey, has not had the opportunity to course himself.  He has produced progeny, however, who are accomplished in the field: a multiple Best in Field Winner (Hannah) and a Senior Courser (Valor)
